The Female Factor celebrated its one year anniversary on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012 at the Studio in Downtown Troy. Over 100 guests and Council members attended the event which included lunch, gift bags and entertainment by the special guest speaker Leslie Bailey.
Leslie Bailey is best known for her segment on WSFA television in Montgomery, "What's cooking, Leslie?" as well as a cookbook of the same name. She spoke to a full house on several topics, including holiday decorating, repurposed items and bargain shopping. "The bottom shelf in the store is great for bargains. As a matter of fact, it is my favorite spot in the store!" she commented.
During her presentation, she encouraged the crowd to be different, do what you want to do and remember, "You can do anything you want to do."
Teresa Grimes, Chief Executive Officer of Troy Regional Medical Center, welcomed the group and recognized those with "perfect attendance" and those with "almost perfect attendance." She also recognized the Council members and sponsors who make the organization possible.
