The Women’s Choice Award® organization has named Troy Regional one of America’s Best Small Hospitals for Comprehensive Care™ in 2025. The hospital was in the top 1 percent of small hospitals for this category. Earlier this year, the organization earned a 2025 Women’s Choice Award as a Best Hospital for Emergency Care.
The Women’s Choice Award identifies America’s best hospitals and healthcare facilities across the nation based on robust criteria that includes relevant clinical performance, patient satisfaction and appropriate accreditation to help women make smart healthcare choices.
The organization identifies the facilities that have demonstrated the highest level of quality care to their patients, with a special focus on the female experience. Women’s Choice Award uses the most publicly available clinical data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) patient satisfaction survey results, relevant accreditation information from appropriate services and the American Hospital Directory.
“We are very pleased to receive this second recognition from the Women’s Choice Award,” said Troy Regional CEO Rick Smith. “We take our responsibility very seriously to provide the best quality of care possible to each of our patients. Our team works hard to provide comprehensive care in a compassionate, clean and safe environment. As a small hospital, we understand we cannot do everything, but what we do, we do very well. We are so proud to serve Pike County and surrounding communities with healthcare close to home.”
Other recognition Troy Regional has received for 2025 includes selection as a Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital (the only one in Alabama) by the Chartis organization, and a 5-star rating for cleanliness and a 5-star rating for quietness by Becker’s Hospital Review. Most recently, Troy Regional made the list of 705 hospitals nationwide that patients would highly recommend. All these awards were based on publicly available data.
