Troy Regional CEO Rick Smith announced today that Steven Lisenby has joined the senior administrative team as chief financial officer (CFO). Lisenby is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the organization, including in-hospital and clinic services.

“We are happy to welcome Steven to our administrative team,” said Smith. “He has more than 35 years of hospital finance experience in Alabama, Florida and Texas.” Lisenby was most recently CFO in Chipley, Fla., where he was hired in 2020.

Smith said Lisenby has stepped into the role previously held by Kathy Hill, who has returned to her home in the Dothan area.

“We appreciate the contributions Kathy made to the financial program at Troy Regional,” Smith said. “Managing finances for a rural hospital can be challenging, and she did a great job in this position with her experience at a larger facility. She came on board upon the retirement of Mike Myers, who helped lead the hospital out of challenging financial times and a pandemic that tested all healthcare organizations.”

Smith said he and the Troy Hospital Health Care Authority Board, which oversees hospital operations, are confident Lisenby will be an asset to Troy Regional with his extensive experience in financial healthcare.
As CFO, Lisenby is charged with overseeing patient business services, medical records, materials management and accounting. Other significant responsibilities include statistical analysis, business model development and strategy, contract negotiations, budgeting and continuous financial performance.

Lisenby said of his new position, “I am very excited to join Troy Regional and help meet the needs of our residents in Pike County and surrounding communities. We will continue to work hard to provide the best healthcare services we possibly can, close to home.” Lisenby said he is also excited about working with the Troy Regional team.

Lisenby is originally from Ozark and graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Health Systems Administration. He holds memberships in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). He and his wife Nancy have two children, Shelby and Matthew.
